Generally intro flash videos on websites are kind of annoying, but I thought this one was different and kind of entertaining.
If you liked SeeMeWin, you may enjoy this article describing another 8 crazy internet ideas. Evan just sent me the link. I pasted the traffic stats from Compete.com below. These stats have a margin of error of +-300% in my experience.
I was on Compete.com today, checking out traffic statistics for popular websites, when I accidentally typed “Facebok” instead of “Facebook”. Although there’s nothing on Facebok.com, it is a really popular site: over 100,000 visitors last month! MySpac.com got over 200,000! I wonder how much they make on ad revenue.
And how about the tubing company that owns uTube.com? Over 1,000,000 visitors a month! Here are the December numbers from Compete.com:

I’ve got a new business model for anyone that wants it: find as many promising early stage startup companies as you can and buy “typo domains”. Then help those companies succeed. As the startup does well, more typo traffic flows to your advertising filled landing pages. It’s a win-win.
What’s the most popular “typo domain” you can find?
Sprint has some website(not sure what the point is) with some short, well made videos on simple tips to save time. My favorite is how to peel a hard boiled egg. Basically you break off the shell at the two endpoints, and then put one side up to your mouth and blow. The egg, sans shell, should pop out. This would have been great for me last year when my meals consisted of either Ramen or hard boiled eggs.
Not sure if it works yet, but I’ll report back soon.
